Raised in rural Wisconsin, Ben Garthus is a Brooklyn-based artist that creates sculptural environments and objects that draw from principles of architecture, design and game theory and which often become locations for performances, games, activities and happenings.

 

He received his MFA from the University of Minnesota. His work has been exhibited at the Walker Art Center, Socrates Sculpture Park, New York Hall of Science and Grounds for Sculpture and has been featured in Sculpture Magazine and Public Art Review.
